Resumen
The invention relates to the use of HDAC6 protein tubulin deacetylase activity agonist compounds in the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions, to said pharmaceutical compositions and to applications of same in the treatment of viral infections. The invention is based on the fact that the acetylation/deacetylation equilibrium of the microtubules is key for modulating the entry of fusogenic viruses into eucaryotic cells, preferably the entry of the HIV-1 virus into T cells, and which is regulated by the HDAC6 protein, thereby enabling novel therapeutic approaches to be defined for the prophylactics and treatment of viral infections. The aforementioned therapeutic approaches are based on the use of compounds that activate the activity of the HDAC6 protein and of the pharmaceutical compositions that contain same in methods for the treatment of said viral infections.
