Resumen
Optical signal Fourier transformer in the time domain based on fibre diffraction lattices. It refers to a device that uses as input (3) a time optical signal and delivers, as output (4) in the time domain, the Fourier transformation of said input signal. The device includes two known optical components a diffraction lattice (1) printed in the nucleus of an optical fibre with linear variation of the lattice period and an optical circulator (2). The design of the device is based on the analogy between the reflection of time signals on the diffraction lattice and the spatial diffraction of spatial signals in the Fraunhofer conditions. The invention can be implemented by using, instead of the diffraction lattice, other components with similar dispersion behaviour. It can be applied in optical processing systems of time signals and photonic signal control, routing, or switching systems.
