Staggered RAID system which comprises: a plurality of hard disks for storing data; a controller for receiving and managing commands which comprises: a central data structure for managing the processing of the various items of data in each file, mapping the location of the parts of the files and updating the pointers thereof; a request receiving module for capturing the input/output requests; a data module for storing the processing configuration for the various items of data in each type of file, the mapping of files and the physical location of the files and the pointers; a dispersion module for analysing the input and dividing the latter into different sets of data for the storage thereof in the RAIDs; a concentrator module for receiving data and reconstructing the structure in order to return said data in an ordered manner; and an execution module for sending the commands to the RAIDs.
