The invention relates to an active electronic device which is used to connect trailers electrically to vehicles and, more specifically, to power the different electric signal light circuits. The purpose of the invention is to provide a device that can be used to connect trailers to vehicles in a manner that is compatible with the self-checking systems with which an increasing number of vehicles are equipped and which do not operate correctly when a signal light-equipped trailer is coupled to said vehicles.
