The invention relates to the preparation of novel amphotericin B formulations for topical administration. In these formulations, amphotericin B forms a complex with cyclodextrin. The low affinity of amphotericin B for cyclodextrin causes the release of the majority of the anti-fungal agent following administration of the formulation, leading to an increase in the pharmacological effect of the amphotericin B which consequently demonstrates an antiparasitic action (antileishmaniasis), as well as the antimycotic action (cutaneous, mucocutaneous and surface) that is the main indication for which amphotericin B is currently prescribed. A combination of excipients (in addition to the cyclodextrin that acts as a solubilising agent) is used to prepare said formulations, such as viscosity enhancers, emulsifiers and fatty excipients. The invention relates to the preparation of topical amphotericin B formulations, each having a different pharmaceutical form: gel, cream, ointment and drops.
