Resumen

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hydrogen peroxide, having an increased oxidation rate of a secondary alcohol and selectivity to the hydrogen peroxide by adding a primary alcohol and/or an ether to the secondary alcohol when producing the hydrogen peroxide by oxidizing the secondary alcohol in a liquid phase by molecular oxygen. SOLUTION: This method for producing hydrogen peroxide by oxidizing the secondary alcohol in a liquid phase by molecular oxygen is performed by oxidizing the secondary alciohol by mixing a primary alcohol and/or an ether to the secondary alcohol. The weight ratio of the secondary alcohol to the primary alcohol and/or the ether is generally about (90/10) to (10/90) with the proviso that the ratio is changed by the properties of the selected alcohol and ether. The oxidation reaction is performed at a temperature of about 60-160 deg.C under the whole pressure within a range of about 1 to 40kg/cm<2> . The primary alcohol and/or the ether preferably has neither a tertiary hydrogen atom nor a benzylic hydrogen atom.

Reivindicaciones

1. Production procedure for hydrogen peroxide by oxidation of secondary alcohols with molecular oxygen in liquid phase characterized in that the oxidation of the secondary alcohols is performed admixing with primary alcohols and/or ethers. 2. Procedure according to claim 1 characterized in that the secondary alcohol/primary alcohol and/or ether weight ratio in the mixture is comprised between approximately 90/10 and 10/90 and preferably between 85/15 and 30/70. 3. Procedure according to claims 1 and 2 characterized in that the oxidation reaction is carried out at temperatures comprised between 60 and 160°C, preferably between 80 and 140°C. 4. Procedure according to claims 1 to 3 characterized in that the overall pressure in the oxidation is comprised between approximately 1 and 40 kg/cm<2> and preferably between 2-15 kg/cm<2>. 5. Procedure according to claims 1 to 4 characterized in that the primary alcohols and/or ethers do not contain tertiary hydrogen or benzyl atoms. 6. Procedure according to claims 1 to 5 characterized in that the secondary alcohol used is 1-phenylethanol.
