A catalyst comprising a cocatalyst and a catalyst component obtained by contacting a silicon-containing metallocene compound with an inorganic support to chemically bond the metallocene compound to the inorganic support, wherein the silicon-containing metallocene compound has a formula (I): wherein: M is a metal selected from [the group consisting of] group 4, 5, or 6 of the periodic table; each X is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, C1-C10 alkyl, C1-C10 alkoxy, C6-C10 aryl, C6-C10 aryloxy, C2-C10 alkenyl, C7-C40 arylalkyl, C7-C40 alkylaryl, and C8-C40 arylalkenyl; A1 and A2 are independently selected from the group consisting of cyclopentadienyl, substituted cyclopentadienyl, indenyl, fluorenyl, substituted indenyl, and substituted fluorenyl, wherein the substituents are independently C1-C10 linear or branched alkyl, C5-C7 cycloalkyl, optionally substituted by an alkyl group, C6-C10 aryl, C6-C10 aryloxy, C2-C10 alkenyl, C7-C40 arylalkyl, C7-C40 alkylaryl, or C8-C40 arylalkenyl.
Reivindicaciones
1. Catalyst component obtainable by contacting a metallocene compound with an inorganic support, wherein the metallocene compound has formula (I): <img class="EMIRef" id="430201216-ib0007" /> wherein: M is a metal of group IVb, Vb or VIb of the periodic table, preferably Ti, Zr or Hf. each X is independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, C<1> -C<10> alkyl, C<1> -C<10> alkoxy, C<6> -C<10> aryl, C<6> -C<10> ariloxy, C<2> -C<10> alkenyl, C<7> -C<40> arylalkyl, C<7> -C<40> alkylaryl, C<8> -C<40> arylalkenyl. L<1> and L<2> are independently selected from cyclopentadienyl, substituted cyclopentadienyl, indenyl fluorenyl, substituted indenyl and substituted fluorenyl, wherein the substituents are independently selected from C<1> -C<10> linear or branched alkyl, C<5> -C<7> cycloalkyl optionally substituted by an alkyl group, C<6> -C<10> aryl, C<6> -C<10> ariloxy, C<2> -C<10> alkenyl, C<7> -C<40> arylalkyl, C<7> -C<40> alkylaryl, C<8> -C<40> arylalkenyl. The surface area of the inorganic support is 10-1000 m<2> /g, preferably 150-650m<2> /g, the pore volume is 0.2-4.0 cm<3> /g, preferably 0.6-2.7 cm<3> /g, the average particle size is 1-1000 micron, preferably 5-100 micron. 2. Catalyst component according to claim 1 characterized in that M is Ti, Zr or Hf, L<1> and L<2> are cyclopentadienyl rings, Y is Cl or Br and X is Cl. 3. Catalyst component according to claim 1 or 2 characterized in that the inorganic support contains hydroxy amine or thiol functional groups. 4. Olefin polymerization catalyst comprising the catalyst component of claims 1-3 and a cocatalyst. 5. Catalyst according to claim 4 wherein the cocatalyst is selected from methylalumoxane, boron compounds or mixtures thereof. 6. Process for the homo- and copolymerization of C<2> -C<20> α-olefins in the gas phase, in slurry or in solution, at a pressure of from 1 to 2000 atm, at a temperature of from -40°C to 280°C, characterized by the use of the catalyst of claims 4-5. 7. Process according to claim 6 characterized in that the olefin is ethylene. 8. Process according to claim 7 characterized in that ethylene is copolymerized in the presence of at least one comonomer selected from 1-butene, 1-hexene, 4-methyl-1-pentene, 1-octene or mixtures thereof. 9.
