The principal objective of this invention is a method for designing a reverberating acoustic chamber with dimensions (L 1 , L 2 , L 3 ) and with a spatially and spectrally uniform acoustic field the steps of the method are: select one of the dimensions L3 obtain the functions L pm (L 1 ,L 2 ) (mean value of the acoustic field) and s(L 1 ,L 2 ) (mean quadratic deviation of the acoustic field) and select, on the basis of the functions obtained in the previous step, the optimum L1 and L2 dimensions that provide the most uniform acoustic field.
