Resumen

The invention relates to antibodies which is capable of binding the monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1) receptor CCR2, especially those which are capable of acting either as an antagonist or agonist. The claimed antobodies can be used for in vitro and/or in vivo diagnostic, for screening and detection of tissues and classes of cells expressing the MCP-1 receptor, for screening for new drugs and for therapeutic use. The invention also relates to a preparation comprising the claimed antibody and a micro-organism or cell-line capable of producing the claimed antibody.

Reivindicaciones

1. Antibody which is capable of binding the monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1) receptor CCR2 which (a) recognises the extracellular aminoterminal region of the receptor and acts as a functional agonist or (b) recognises amino acid sequences present in the third extracellular loop of the receptor and acts as a functional receptor antagonist. 2. Antibody according to claim 1, which is a monoclonal antibody. 3. Antibody according to claim 1 which recognises sequences present in the third extracellular loop of the receptor and which recognises amino acid residues 273-292 of the receptor. 4. Antibody according to claim 1 recognising the extracellular aminoterminal region of the receptor and which recognises amino acid residues 24-38 of the receptor. 5. Antibody according to any of the preceding claims capable of binding the MCP-1 receptor and capable of immunoprecipitation of the MCP-1 receptor in the context of cells or biological tissue and capable of detection of the MCP-1 receptor adsorbed on an artificial membrane. 6. Antibody according to claim 5 and recognising Mono-Mac-1 and THP1 cells, expressing the MCP-1 receptor, in immunofluorescence. 7. Use of an antibody according to any of the preceding claims forin vitro diagnostic. 8. Use of an antibody according to any of claims 1 to 6 forin vitro screening and detection of tissues and classes of cells expressing the MCP-1 receptor. 9. Use of an antibody according to any of claims I to 6 for screening for new drugs,in vitro . 10. Antibody preparation comprising antibody according to any of claims 1 to 6. 11. Antibody according to any of claims 1 to 6 for therapeutic use. 12. Pharmaceutical composition comprising antibody according to any of claims 1 to 6 and a carrier. 13. A micro-organism or cell-line capable of producing the antibody according to any of the claims 1 to 6. 14. An antibody according to any one of claims 1 to 6 for use as anin vivo diagnostic. 15. An antibody according to any one of claims 1 to 6 for use as anin vivo screen for new drugs.
