The invention relates to peptide compounds with the amino acid sequence having formula (I): Tyr-Ala-Arg-Ala-Ala-Ala-Arg-Gln-Ala-Arg-Ala-(X)-Ser-Asp-Gly-Gly-pTyr-Met- Asp-Met-Ser (I), wherein (X) is none, one or more amino acid spacer residues and pTyr is a phosphorylated tyrosine, and variants and derivatives of said compounds, which can be used in medicine to reduce intraocular pressure. The peptides or the pharmaceutical compositions containing same can be used for the treatment and/or prevention of ocular hypertension and/or glaucoma.
