The invention relates to a system for determining ambient acidity based on sensors that change colour as a function of the ambient pH. The device of the invention can be used to determine the ambient pH by means of reader units that pass radiation through the sensor when the optical characteristics of the latter have been modified owing to the pH of the environment in which it is located.
