Reivindicaciones
1. An energy converter for converting kinetic energy from a flow in a body of liquid by transverse galloping comprising a support (1), an elongate galloping body (2; 22) extending between a first end and a second end and being of a cross-section suitable for transverse galloping, a substantially horizontal guide (4) for guiding the first end of the galloping body, one or more elastic elements (5) substantially horizontally arranged and connected between the galloping body and the support, and a generator (6) comprising a static generator component (9) and a dynamic generator component (8; 18), and wherein the galloping body (2; 22) is substantially vertically suspended such that the second end of the body extends into the body of liquid, and the dynamic generator component (18) is operationally connected to the galloping body,characterised in that the cross-section of the elongate galloping body is satisfying the Den Hartog criterion andin that the substantially horizontal guide is arranged outside the body of liquid. 2. Energy converter according to claim 1, wherein the support (1) is floating in the body of liquid. 3. Energy converter according to claim 1, wherein the support (1) is fixed. 4. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 3, wherein the dynamic generator component (8; 18) is integrally formed with or attached to the galloping body (2; 22). 5. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 3, wherein the dynamic generator component (8; 18) is integrally formed with or attached to a second body (15) connected to the support by one or more elastic elements (14). 6. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 5, wherein at least a part of the galloping body is rotatable around a longitudinal axis of the galloping body and the energy converter further comprising an actuator for rotating the rotatable part. 7. Energy converter according to claim 6, wherein the galloping body comprises an upper part (22a) and a lower part (22b), and wherein the lower part (22b) is rotatably mounted about the upper part. 8. Energy converter according to claim 6 or 7, further comprising a pitch control system for sending commands to the actuator (27), wherein said commands are based on measurements of the position and/or velocity of the galloping body and velocity of the flow. 9. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 8, wherein the galloping body is substantially hollow. 10. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 9, wherein the galloping body further comprises an end-plate at its second end. 11. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 10, wherein the cross section of the galloping body is variable between the first end and the second end. 12. Energy converter according to claim 11, wherein the shape of the cross-section of the galloping body is substantially constant between the first end and the second end, but the cross-section has variable dimensions. 13. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 12, wherein the cross-section of the galloping body substantially has a C-shape. 14. Energy converter according to any of claims 1 - 13, wherein a resistance of the generator is adaptable. 15. Energy conversion system comprising a plurality of energy converters according to any of claims 1 - 14.
